Asch Conformity Test – It is so Easy to Brainwash People

In 1951, Solomon Asch conducted the highly regarded conformity study to see if individuals will conform to the social pressure of a group. Asch was interested to see if an individual would give a wrong answer based on the group's general consensus regarding the answer (although wrong), due to the pressure to conform to that group's decision. The experiment was conducted in a lab in which 50 male students were brought in and told that they were taking a "vision test."

This version includes definitions of normative and informational conformity and the powerful effect of having an ally.

Normative Conformity is when someone changes their behavior or beliefs to fit in with a group in order to be accepted.

Informational conformity is a type of social influence that occurs when people change their opinions or behaviors based on information they receive from others. People may conform to others they believe have accurate information, such as scientists, doctors, reporters, or lawyers, who they may believe have more expertise in certain areas.

This is why they use the word “EXPERT” all the time during these fake pandemics. If we receive our information from experts like Dr. Fauci we are more apt to believe the bullsh*t.

The Asch Conformity Experiment consisted of a group that were given a vision test of which lines were longer that other ones. Other participants were instructed to lie about which line was longer as they were working with the experimenter.

The study discovered that the participants were likely to conform to very OBVIOUS WRONG Answers if their peers before them gave the SAME answers.

It is a shocking study which proves how flat out easy it is to manipulate people to believe lies.

Asch found that 75% of unaware subjects conformed based on the answers of other participants, even when they knew the answer was wrong. Asch came to the conclusion that in group settings, more people are likely to conform.
