"The Islamic Emirate took control of Afghanistan three years ago today, on the 24th of Asad 1400 (solar calendar), bringing an end to the 20-year reign of the Republic, along with its entire military apparatus.

This marked one of the most significant political changes in Afghanistan's history. The beginning of this transformation followed clashes between the Islamic Emirate's forces and the previous government's forces, starting with the fall of the first province, Nimroz, on the 15th of Asad 1400, to the Islamic Emirate's forces.
