Flying Failures - Blackburn Roc

Hello all! :D

Developed as a very hasty form of naval defence, the Blackburn Roc's role in the ranks of the Fleet Air Arm was already outdated by the time of its release, continuing the traditions of early World War I aviation by having what was originally a dive bomber design forced to drag around a heavy gun turret mounted on its rear fuselage.

The result was a catastrophically underperforming aircraft that had no hope of competing against the latest slew of high speed interceptors being unleashed upon Britain during World War II, the Roc eventually seeing a career of only 5 years by the time it was withdrawn, having notched up only one confirmed kill during its entire working life.
