Reject: A Super Superhero Story (Character Introduction)

*This is the Protector, or, at least, the suit is the Protector. Developed by Nesh/Ack Industrial, the suit itself is not up to the Avarr level of technology that the Ten Man has created but it is close. More importantly, the suit is AI controlled yet it needs a pilot whose mind can merge with the AI so they can act as one when the suit is worn. This means that Michelle McCloud who now wears the Protector armor is not the first Pilot who has donned that suit. She is, however, an Air Force cadet whose skills and aptitude in training gained her the notice of Nesh/Ack Industrial and the US Government. All superhero leagues have to have a Protector in their ranks in order to receive government funds and a license to fulfill any heroic activities and the last few Protectors for the Just have been men. Sure, there was one black man who became a Pilot for a good decade but no women and no Asian Pilots so McCloud is perfect. Her tests show she may not line up 100 percent with the AI of the Protector suit, called Penelope or Pen by all its Pilots, but she is close enough. She can merge with Pen, just not fully, yet she fulfills so many equitable initiatives for the government and gives them and Nesh/Ack Industrial their continued influence over the Just.
