Tragically, for most people heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the world. Globally, cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for a third of all deaths. This group of disorders includes coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, atherosclerosis, and stroke, and poses a significant public health challenge. Despite huge investments in medical research and expensive interventions, the prevalence of CVD continues to rise, driven by lifestyle risk factors such as malnutrition, a sedentary lifestyle, and metabolic disorders like hypertension and diabetes. Addressing this pandemic requires prevention, early detection, and effectively dealing with underlying cardiovascular conditions.
