⚡️ First joint training within Russian-Mongol Selenga 2024 exercise takes place in Mongolia

21.08.24 - The Eastern Military District's servicemen of the Joint Group of Forces and the Armed Forces of Mongolia determined the routes of advance according to the special features of the terrain at a training ground as well as honed on the organisation of communication and interaction.

📝 The Joint Staff agreed on common command signals for both sides. Motorised rifle units trained a joint offensive with deployment to the combat line at a specified speed of combat vehicles.

'For the first time, Russian-Mongol exercises had FPV drones employed. Almost all types of troops were involved in these exercise. The servicemen of both sides are acting cohesively and in an orderly way', said Task Force Executive Officer Adam Matsiyev.

The upcoming joint flight-tactical missions for helicopter crews of the Eastern Military District's Army Aviation and the Air Force of Mongolia are also being developed. In addition, for the first time, Special Operations Forces' units performed an airborne landing with Mi-8AMTSh helicopters.

For the first time in this year, the joint exercise includes units of the Land Forces, the Aerospace Forces and Special Forces of the Russian and Mongolian Armed Forces with a total strength of around 700 people and around 200 units of military hardware.
