Cop does not know how the trespassing law works. Warnings do NOT require ID

A police is called for a disturbance. The owner then gives a trespass warning, but the police officer does not allow the suspect to leave. He demands ID, when he can not legally do so. This exact situation has already been tested in the courts, and its been ruled that a trespass warning is a consensual encounter. This means you do not have to ID, or give police any information, to complete a report or the trespass paperwork.
