The Tech genius, Elon Musk introduced the concept to the public in 2012, when he outlined his idea, but unfortunately, he got too busy with electric vehicles and space technology, and couldn’t invest in the hyperloop. According to Elon Musk, Hyperloop is “a cross between a Concorde, a railgun, and an air hockey table”. He, along with the engineers at SpaceX and Tesla, wrote a paper telling how the technology would work and left it there. The term "hyperloop" was first used to describe an open-source vactrain or vacuum tube train design released by Tesla and SpaceX's joint team. This model for passenger and cargo transportation is made up of a tube or a network of sealed tubes with low air pressure, allowing a capsule to travel through them with very little air resistance or friction.

When compared to existing high-speed rail systems, the Hyperloop can transport people or objects at airline or hypersonic speeds while also being energy efficient. When compared to and plane travel, Hyperloop implementation could significantly reduce travel times over shorter distances of about 1500 kilometers or 930 miles.However, the hyperloop is no longer just a pipe dream. A small number of companies are now competing to develop the necessary technology. In addition to designing the magnetically levitated pods and testing them on small-scale tracks, the companies are planning hyperloop routes in the United States and abroad.
