❗ Official statement from the Press office of the Federal Penitentiary Service:
"In the penal colony number 19 in the Volgograd region, during a meeting of the disciplinary commission, convicts took employees of the correctional facility hostage. Now, measures are being taken to free the hostages. As a result of the prisoners' actions, there are casualties, one of the employees was killed. The colony is located on the outskirts of the city of Surovikino. The regime is strict. The facility's capacity is 1,229 people."
