Casting Crowns' song "Slow Fade" was written in response to the well-publicized downfall of several prominent church leaders. Lead vocalist Mark Hall says the song is about "a series of minor compromises until you're in a place you never thought you'd be, doing things you never thought you'd do and rationalizing all of it". He also says that believers need to be careful to guard their relationship with God, or they may "crash and burn
