August 23, 2024 Deuteronomy 3:23-7:11 Va’Etchanan This week’s section opens up with Moses pleading with God to enter the land but sometimes God’s no is just no, and like Paul pleaded to remove the thorn in his flesh Moses had to realize that God’s grace is sufficient. We see the importance in this week’s study of the Law, not for salvation but for sanctification and individual blessing. We see a repetition of the 10 commandments, but would you be shocked to find out that hey are different in Deuteronomy 5 than they are given in Exodus 20 and actually only make up 6 commands? Finally we also see another Torah anomoly in the “Shema” which points to the Eternal Witness to “see the Door” which we all need to walk through.
