Wynn Stewart - Wishful Thinking (1959)

The Bakersfield Sound began to take shape in Los Angeles with songs like "Wishful Thinking." In the early 1960s, Wynn Stewart had many musicians who would later become iconic in the Bakersfield Sound play in his band, including Merle Haggard. After Haggard was released from prison, his first country music gig was playing bass for Wynn at the Nashville Nevada Club in Las Vegas.
