Cultivating a "Soft Trench", What Will it Do?

What do you do when you notice your land has pooling water, when it hasn't rained in weeks? I grabbed my Mantis Mini Tiller/Cultivator 7924 to see if I could churn up a drainage swell to drain the water!!
