This song is, I guess, social commentary, without any answers.
Think of me as like Billy Bragg, but without the love of communism and tyranny.

The lyrics are not from as much of a judgemental place as it might seem.
The situation is very sad. The system we are under has most of us by the balls.

Most jobs and businesses are very much touched by the tentacles of tyranny (there is a song there!). As the tentacles have grown and gotten into everything, most of us have been blind to it and ignored it until, all of a sudden (it seems), things are really extreme.

Now, most jobs, professions and industries are so heavily infected with wokeness and ecofascism (etc. etc.), those of us who have to make a living face very hard choices.

It is getting to the point of "comply or starve" and, of course, it is meant to be that way.

The only solution I can imagine is one where a critical mass of people truly wise up to the direction of things and to the inherent nature of government, and establish independence from it. Crazy stuff, most people would say. I think the idea of getting good / nice politicians in is more crazy and unlikely.

Most people comply with things they don't really agree with to some degree. Most of us who like to think that we have some integrity "choose our battles". We don't confront everything at every opportunity. Most of us.

It's on a spectrum. Many people sadly have ZERO integrity and ZERO balls, and some outstanding people have loads of integrity and huge balls. I know very few people, but I'm lucky that I know some people like that.

If you refused the jabs / you refused masks (or if you would and will from now on) hats off to you. We can't all be perfect but we need to try to hold some lines and not just say in our short term comfort zones.

To be clear here, I am talking to myself too.
