Why a solid state disk might fail.

Solid state disks are great, they are quiet and energy efficient. One of the pit falls of ssd's is they will eventually meet their demise when the write limit is met and it goes into read only mode or read access mode. When that happens it's basically a failed disk or on it's way out.
The cure to this is to have multiple copies of what you keep sacred.
