WAVES, ROCKS, SAND AND PEOPLE!

Portugal is the far westernmost country in Europe. Located on the western end of the Iberian Peninsula, it is exposed to the Atlanticn Ocen and receives storms from the North and the South at different times during the year.

Beaches (called PRAIAS in Portuguese) run the entire length of the land and are popular with Europeans and others. Some are crowded, but I found most to be very private, especially the further from the cities one goes.
