On both Trayodashi dates of each month, the Pradosh Vrat is observed. Recently, the Bhadrapad Pradosh month has begun, and the first Pradosh Vrat of this month will be observed on the Krishna Trayodashi of Bhadrapad. On the day of Pradosh Vrat, worship is performed for Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. By observing this Vrat, Lord Shiva relieves his devotees of all their sorrows and troubles.

According to the Hindu calendar, the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi date of Bhadrapad month will begin at 2:25 AM on August 31 and conclude at 3:40 AM on September 1. The Bhadrapad Pradosh Vrat will therefore be observed on Saturday, August 31. Several auspicious yogas are forming on the first Pradosh Vrat of Bhadrapad month.

Since this Vrat falls on a Saturday, it is known as Shani Pradosh Vrat. Observing the Shani Pradosh Vrat helps relieve individuals from the Shani Mahadasha in their horoscope and brings about happiness, peace, and prosperity.
