Myths recreated
Age of Mythology Retold offers a modernized take on the classic real-time strategy title. Diverging from other Age of Empires games, it doesn't offer realistic settings. Instead, it takes us to the land of myths, gods, and legendary beings. You will lead the Greeks, Egyptians, Norse, and Atlanteans. All those distinct factions offer unique structures, troops, and pantheons, providing a unique experience. Embark on an epic narrative journey comprising approximately 50 missions, allowing you to lead each of these nations.

Choose your gods
In Age of Mythology Retold, you'll build your base, collect and spend resources, and lead armies of heroes and mythical beings, such as frost giants, mummies, and minotaurs. Advancing to the next age allows you to select special blessings from deities. Hence, replaying a mission might offer a fresh experience.

Play as you like
Age of Mythology Retold appeals to newcomers and veterans of the original game. Long-time fans can expect improved unit balancing and enhanced graphics. Microsoft has also teased anticipated new content, such as the Arena of the Gods game mode. This post-launch addition allows players to take on challenges independently or collaborate with others, enhancing the solo and multiplayer experience already present in the game.

Release and platforms
At Summer Game Fest in June 2024, Microsoft revealed that Age of Mythology Retold would be released on September 4, 2024. It is available on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
