Fortnite Has A Skill Based Matchmaking Problem

I recently attempted the Double Pump challenge in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, but I ran into a major obstacle: the skill-based matchmaking system. Also known as SBMM, this system forces players into increasingly difficult and eventually unwinnable games based on their playtime. With all the new items added in Fortnite Absolute Doom, its disappointing that playing for fun or casual content has become virtually impossible, even in public lobbies.
