The conspiracy of the Montauk Project begins with an even earlier conspiracy: The Philadelphia Experiment. In the summer of 1943, the USS Eldridge left the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard a skeleton crew and orders to test a top-secret technology meant to render it invisible. However, when the technology was engaged, a green fog emanated from the ship before it briefly disappeared. When the ship reappeared, it revealed a horrific scene. Some men been vaporized; others had fused with the bulkhead of the ship. In 1988, Al Bielek claimed to have been one of the men onboard the USS Eldridge during this experiment. He jumped overboard with his brother and slipped through time, landing in 1983 in Montauk, New York. The Air Force controlled a base there called Camp Hero, and it was here that the Montauk Project took place. Utilizing the SAGE radar, researchers initially experimented with frequencies and their effects on the human mind, similar to the Gateway Tapes. These experiments progressed as the researchers discovered new capabilities from their subjects and equipment. They conducted remote viewing and control experiments, similar to MKULTRA and Project Stargate. Then, they opened portals through time, sending exploratory crews of soldiers, scientists, and civilians, not dissimilar to the exploration of The Upside-Down. Finally, an extra-dimensional being was manifested through the portal. This creature had a different appearance to each witness, and it likely served as the inspiration for the Demogorgon. On May 19, about nine weeks later, a leaked video was published to YouTube by a third party who claimed to have received it on March 12th. The video shows what appears to be a jet airliner on fire being trailed by three spiraling orbs. Eventually, the three orbs change to a vertical pattern and disappear in a flash with the airliner, leaving a dead-end trail of smoke in the sky. A month later on June 12th, a second video was published to the same channel that showed the exact same event taken from a different viewpoint. Dr. Salvatore Cezar Pais is the man behind the patents and The War Zone has proven the man exists, at least on paper. Pais has worked for a number of different departments in the Navy, including the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAVAIR/NAWCAD) and the Strategic Systems Programs. (SSP) The SSP mission, according to its website, is to “provide credible and affordable strategic solutions to the warfighter.” It’s responsible for developing the technology behind the Trident class nuclear missiles launched from Submarines. The patents all build on each other, but at their core is something Pais called the “Pais Effect.” Essentially, Pais is claiming to use properly spun electromagnetic fields to contain a fusion reaction. In 1996, Delgado began to have a strange and extremely vivid recurring dream. In it, he stood before a stone doorway, which emanated a mysterious blue light. Perhaps the dream was little more than a result of stress; Delgado had just started a new job as a tour guide in the mountains of modern Peru, and he did not yet know the area well enough to feel comfortable leading the many tourists who passed through each year. To rectify this, he began to explore the area on foot, better acclimating himself with the vast surroundings. One day, while doing just this, Delgado came across something which stunned him. There, deep in the mountains, was what appeared to be a large stone door, 25-feet tall and 25 wide, carved into the side of a mountain, with a smaller recessed door at its base, exactly the door Delgado had seen in his dream.
