Algiers is a 1938 US drama movie directed by John Cromwell. The stars are Charles Boyer, Sigrid Gurie, and Hedy Lamarr. Charles Boyer plays Pepe le Moko, who is a notorious thief. Pepe. after his last huge heist, escaped from France and went to Algeria. Since his escape, Pepe has become a leader of the Casbah, "native quarter", of Algiers. Hedy Lamarr made her US movie debut in this movie.
