The Fear Of Death

“How are we to get rid of this fear?” asks one. Well, let us never try to get rid of it, as some do, by forgetting all about death. That would be to live as the brutes that perish; they live their little day here without any thought beyond the present. The ox and the sheep go to the slaughter-house without the power to look beyond the present life. I would not like to obtain peace of mind by descending to the level of those “dumb, driven cattle.”
