Should Parents Spank Their Children?

If you bring up the topic of disciplining children these days and even suggest that sometimes physical force might be necessary - people think you are a neanderthal. People resort to all sorts of approaches in trying to get kids to behave: time outs, revoking of privileges, begging, threats, etc. Well, does the Bible have a suggestion on what might be the best way to teach kids to obey?
