Elements of the Northern Fleet started search operations of the mock enemy submarines in the waters of the Barents Sea during the Ocean 2024 strategic naval drills.

Two naval search and strike forces comprising the large ASW ship Admiral Levchenko and the small ASW ships Brest and Snezhnogorsk are involved in this phase of the exercise. Multi-purpose nuclear-powered submarines and anti-submarine aviation of the Northern Fleet mixed aviation corps also joined this phase of the exercise.
