Chuck D apparently isn’t a fan of the hype surrounding Donald Trump‘s new golden high-top sneakers.

The Hip-Hop legend took to X, formerly Twitter, on to blast the Presidential candidate for his seeming belief that he can win over Black voters with tactics such as designer sneakers.

I ain’t never been a sneakerhead,” Chuck D wrote while sharing a drawing of what appears to be a Black man holding one of Trump’s shoes. “I wear ‘em don’t overthink much of ‘em.” The iconic lyricist also chided Trump for attempting to appeal to the Black community by using shoes in order to secure votes in the 2024 election.
“Dude thinks he can get the Black vote like the other guy by dangling bait,” Trump added. “Lol 2024 we laughed at the possibility of this scenario last century.” When another X user responded to Chuck D by sharing an old photo of Trump with Muhammad Ali, Don King, and Jesse Jackson and claiming that Ali “loved” Trump, the emcee disagreed, deeming the “love” shown in the picture as disingenuous.
