King's THE STAND: Ambitious Yet Underwhelming

In this In this REJECT SHELF #bookreview, I go over primary aspects of Stephen King's epic post-apocalyptic novel 'The Stand'. The book explores a worldwide pandemic that decimates humanity, following an unconventional narrative structure with an ensemble cast. While ambitious in scope and length, creating a memorable atmosphere, some of its promising ideas feel underdeveloped at times. Vulgarity appears to be the main technique in the novel instead of actual reflections on human nature and psychological explorations that could have made the work worthwhile. I also critique the poor quality printing and cover material of the specific edition reviewed.
