Russia Holds Ocean 2024 Naval Drills With China

Moscow is holding its biggest naval drills since the Soviet era. They have been dubbed "Ocean 2024". The naval exercise will go on till September 16. Russian President Vladimir Putin says that the drills will take place in the Pacific and Arctic oceans, and the Mediterranean, Caspian and Baltic Seas. The drills involve over 400 ships and vessels, and over 120 aircraft. China is officially taking part in the drills, but its contribution is minimal. China will be holding its own drills later this month, and Russia will be participating. Perhaps Putin sending a message to the West by taking part in joint drills with China.
