Moose Hide Tanning: Gathering PUNK WOOD

To tan her moose hides the traditional (Dene) way and get that nice, light tan colour, my wife selects certain woods from the forest. In this video I follow her on our trapline as she picks up (what I call) "punky" wood to smolder for the smoking process.
