Isa 37:28
"But I know your sitting down, And your going out and your coming in, And your raging against Me.

Elohim says, "You don't know Me, but I know you. I know everything about you and everything you do. I also know your anger against Me."

Isa 37:29
"Because of your raging against Me, And because your arrogance has come up to My ears, Therefore I will put My hook in your nose, And My bridle in your lips, And I will turn you back by the way which you came.
What powerful language. Elohim says, "I will put My hook in your nose and My bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way which you came." Elohim is going to use Sannecherib like a little puppet. Elohim is in complete control of this whole incident. Elohim has displayed His control over incidents in the world many, many times in history. Our study of the Revelation and Daniel tells us that Elohim has displayed this many times in the recent past also (the rise of the Muslim Empire, the European Colonization of Africa, WWII, the fall of the Byzantine Empire, and other events).

Isa 37:30
"Then this shall be the sign for you: you shall eat this year what grows of itself, in the second year what springs from the same, and in the third year sow, reap, plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.

The king of Assyria think he is going to come back and destroy Jerusalem, but he is wrong. Elohim tells the people of Jerusalem to make long range plans in their land. They will be there for a few more years.

Isa 37:31
"And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

Those that are in Judah will escape this predicament and bear fruit.

Isa 37:32
"For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of the LORD of hosts shall perform this."'

Elohim will preserve a remnant out of Jerusalem. Paul spoke of this remnant that Elohim declared over 700 years earlier.

Romans 11:5 In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.

Isa 37:33
"Therefore, thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, 'He shall not come to this city, or shoot an arrow there; neither shall he come before it with a shield, nor throw up a mound against it.

Elohim says that there will not even be an arrow shot into the city. This is a remarkable statement considering the might and power of this enemy.
