The Spangler Encounter

1981 - At the time Spangler was employed as a Boeing 707 pilot for German airlines, the cargo affiliate of Lufthansa, he recalled that he was working
a red-eye special knife flight from New York to Frankfurt.

He was piloting a cargo 707 just approaching his destination
when his world turned upside down

The flight had been fairly uneventful but that all changed when Spangler claimed that he was notified that something was
following him.

Frankfurt approach control had radioed him that it had a positive radar lock-on
something behind his plane.

To them, it looked like something was stalking him and they were uncertain what the mystery object was at that moment.

Captain Spangler turned to see a brilliant red-orange light like an explosion.
