Man Tased While Attempting to Flee on Foot

Wyandotte, Michigan — On September 14, 2024, at around 1:30 a.m., Officer Cox with the Wyandotte Police Department initiated a traffic stop. Unknown to Officer Cox, the man was transporting Heroin, Crack Cocaine, and Crystal Methamphetamines at the time of this traffic stop. When Officer Cox orders the man to exit the vehicle, he accelerates in an attempt to escape. After a brief police chase, the man loses control and crashes over the median on Fort Street which causes three of his tires to explode. The man attempts to run off, but the officer uses a taser on the suspect and takes him into custody. The driver reportedly has a long list of charges dating back to 2004, including drug possession, fleeing and eluding police, felony assault and more.
