The Gospel of Matthew Ch 27

Jesus cried out again in a loud voice and gave up his spirit. Jesus is the truth; He spoke in the light, but wicked leaders incited the people with lies of mesmerizing word and deed driving them into a frenzy with blood in their eyes. They made up crimes against Jesus that led his suffering crucifixion and death. It relates to today, where the followers of Jesus and the truth are pursued with lies, minimized, persecuted and killed. Lord, make us ready to bear the cross You have appointed us, and daily to take it up with cheerfulness, following you.
