Suspected drug runner captured after being tased in the back following police chase

A traffic stop in Wyandotte ended in a police chase, an arrest and the discovery of narcotics.

The incident began at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. During a traffic stop, the officer ordered the man to exit the vehicle, but he speeds off. After a brief police chase, the driver loses control of the vehicle and crashes on Fort Street.

Bodycam footage captures the man attempting to run off, but the officer uses a taser on the suspect and takes him into custody.

Police said they found heroin, crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The driver reportedly has a long list of charges dating back to 2004, including drug possession, fleeing and eluding police, felony assault and more.
