How long your short film should be

Remember when you were in high school and they had the film or AV club? Many film festivals accept short films up to 40 minutes BUT you don’t want to be that person. They’re hard to accept because they’re screened in blocks, and way fewer short films can be screened or included in a block if they accept a 40-minute short.
