Cyrano de Bergerac (1950)
"Cyrano de Bergerac" is a classic adaptation of Edmond Rostand's famous play. It stars José Ferrer in the title role of Cyrano, a brilliant swordsman and poet with a large nose who is secretly in love with his cousin, Roxane.
The film follows Cyrano as he helps his handsome but inarticulate friend Christian woo Roxane by writing love letters for him. Despite his own feelings for her, Cyrano remains selfless and continues to support Christian, even as his own heart breaks.
