How do you forgive?

How do you forgive someone you love who has said hurtful things about you or to you?

One of the greatest pieces of advice we have heard is to remember that forgiving someone doesn't mean you have to trust them. Forgiveness simply releases the power that person's hurt has over you and surrenders them and the situation over to the Lord.
