I did not previously know before putting this medley together that all the songs in it appear in other medleys. The idea for our version came to me from the performance of Ron Kenoly's Whose Report Shall You Believe by the previous worship team of which I was a part as a singer. When the team asked to do Whose Report after I became the pianist, I added in the other songs. However, I was unsuccessful in duplicating the playing style of our previous pianist, which sad fact has not changed to this day. After hearing it, one of the more mischief-minded team members started referring to the medley as "Polka" because of my playing style. The nickname stuck. Probably because of that, to a large degree, but primarily because of the joyousness and exultation called forth by these songs, this medley is one of my favorite pieces to play and direct.
