False Beliefs | What Does the Course Say About What the World Believes?

In the depths of our minds, we navigate a world that often feels all too real—a world where fear reigns, where lack, struggle, scarcity, and fear dominate our daily lives. But what if you discovered that this world is not the Will of God? What if the reality we experience is nothing more than a shadow, a reflection of a deeper delusional system crafted by the ego? Here we will take a brief exploration of the false beliefs that shape our world. A Course in Miracles says, “Nothing the world believes is true…”

The Course teaches that this is not the real world—the world we see with our eyes and interpret with our minds is but a symbol of punishment, a manifestation of the ego's twisted understanding of reality. In this world, love becomes a dream while fear remains the one true false reality, creating a landscape where vengeance, attack, and betrayal are tools to keep guilt firmly in place. These forces are the pillars on which the ego's world is built, ensuring that we remain trapped in a cycle of judgment, guilt, sin, attack, punishment and obedience.

But only God's will is real. This truth stands as a beacon of light, a reminder that the world we see is not the world as it truly is. This world is not the Will of God—it is a mere projection of the ego's fear-based mindset. The Course teaches that fear constitutes the foundation on which the world is based, and that from this foundation, the laws of death govern our existence. We are led to believe that life is a constant battle, that we must constantly struggle and fight for survival in a world that is inherently hostile and unforgiving. That is not God’s will. This is not the reality that God wills for us.

God's will is one of love, peace, and abundance—a will that is in direct opposition to the ego's world of lack, struggle, death and despair. A Course in Miracles challenges us to look beyond the surface of our experiences, to see the ego's world for what it truly is: a delusional system that leads us away from God and into the depths of fear and punishment. We are urged not to let the world define who we are, for it does not know our true nature. The world we see is a distortion, a reflection of the ego's belief in separation from God. But this belief is a lie, a falsehood that keeps us bound to a reality that is a false deception.

Within this dream of the ego and all its lies, there is a call to awaken, a call to remember that we are not the creations of a fearful world, but of a loving God. We are reminded that God's love is the only reality, and that the ego's world is but a fleeting illusion.
