There is a harmful meth epidemic in social housing in WA

There is a harmful meth epidemic in social housing in WA that the Department of Housing are turning a blind eye to.

The Department of Housing insists that it is the responsibility of other Tenants to be the police which places them in harms way when collecting the evidence and reporting on the symptoms of the meth epidemic.

The Department of Housing has a duty of care to all tenants which is being neglected and it would appear that the meth epidemic is being enabled by this inaction and refusal to acknowledge the health crisis.

We are calling for a Community Summit to be held within 30 days that includes Tenants and the Department of Health, Housing, The Ministers of Health and Housing and other stakeholders to acknowledge there is an epidemic and fulfil their legal duty of care to tenants of social housing who are not using illegal substances.
