Letcher county Sheriff Shawn Mickey Stines shoots District court Judge Kevin Mullins in his chambers.
Sheriff Stines was due to give a deposition 3 days later in a civil lawsuit alleging sexual favors was happening in the judge's chambers.
Stines is charged with one count of first-degree murder and being held in Leslie County. He is scheduled to appear virtually before Chief Regional Judge Rupert Wilhoit at 11 a.m. in Carter County, which is over 100 miles away from Leslie County.
