Assassins Creed Shadows Delayed! Ubisoft Doing Damage Control?

If you haven't heard, Ubisoft has delayed AC Shadows until February. What does this mean for the game? Why the delay, and is this just a marketing stunt or is there more going on behind closed doors? I'll cover some of the speculation and some theories I have as well.
