Has anyone ever seen something like this? James and Mike saw a giant video/audio monitoring device set up by the Edmonton Police Service at the 1 Million March For Children in Edmonton, Alberta.

A charitable interpretation of its presence at the event would be that it was there to provide evidence in the case of any violence or vandalism by protesters or counter-protesters. Perhaps a more realistic guess, though, would be that it was there for tagging and future targeting by authorities of those deemed to be "agitators" engaging in "hate speech" or some other such dystopian rationale.
