The AFU POW said the AFU command lied to him and sent him to the Kursk region and his comrades were drugs addicted:

'We walked into a basement when a shelling started. Four our seniors disappeared. They were high, they didn't care how to go. They smoked weed and just left. We were ordered to seat in the basement. They were our conductors. They were to get us to a point and deploy us there. To be honest, they sent us there with junkies there to die.'

The POW said that the AFU command ordered them to stay at the border but in fact the servicemen were sent to the Kursk region.

'They just deceived us. I spoke with other POWs. They had the same situation. They were told to deploy and wait for two or three days and that's it,' said Sergei Butenko.
