Clarence "Ducky" Nash & Donald Duck - The Merv Griffin Show (June 15, 1984)

From 1983 through 1984 Clarence "Ducky" Nash was sent on a world wide promotional campaign for the 50th Birthday of Donald Duck. He had been the performer behind Donald from the very beginning. This time this tour took him to the long running Merv Griffin Show. The Merv Griffin Show was a late night/daytime talk show in the vein of The Tonight Show and Late Show running from 1962-1986 and aired on all three major networks at one time in its history.

We also get to see Nash performing with one of the Donald Duck ventriloquist dummies that the Studio Character Model Dept built for him. Nash would travel making personal appearances with this dummy but the design was later updated. Nash's final appearance as Donald Duck was in Mickey's Christmas Carol. He passed away the following year.

Original air date June 15, 1984
