Welcome to DeSantisland! DEI & the Failing Public Schools of Hernando County, part 2

On September 24, 2024, a member of the community spoke to the Hernando County, FL Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) regarding the 2024 State Test Score result for the Hernando County School District. As can be seen, the District FLUNKED across the board, which reflects nearly seven years of continuing failure by the previous Superintendent, most of the members of the current School Board and a ‘WOKE’ DeSantisland Department of Education.

In an attempt to explain their own shortcomings, these educational theorists have continually striven to create racial, ethnic or financial reasons to explain an alleged ‘achievement gap’. The attempt to meet this goal has led to an infusion of expensive and virtually useless digital learning systems, based upon the ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ Grift (DEI) and other crackpot ‘woke’ concepts. The result of this great experiment in indoctrination is that the kids now know all the right transgender pronouns, but they cannot read, write or solve for ‘X’.

Citizen attempts to reform this idiotic system have been met with ever more authoritarian measures and the Hernando County School Board has led the way. Working with the local Sheriff, the School District has hired and trained its own private militia. This militia, known as ‘The Guardians’, was justified under the pretense that it would be used alongside School Resource Officers for protection against potential school shooters and other security issues within the schools.

Instead, while problems continue in the schools and on the buses, this far-too-well-armed bunch of cop wannabees stand guard at the entrance to duly noticed school board meetings to protect the school board from public speech and criticism by reform-minded citizens. They also operate a magneto machine at the entrance door and routinely conduct warrantless searches upon those that enter. These are made and required by individuals who are not deputized and have no CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to exercise ANY authority over the public.

(Note: The School District has only one magnetto machine, which is used exclusively to scan adult citizens attending duly noticed public School Board Meetings--many of whom are in their 60's and 70's. No magnetto machines are used at ANY school within the District!)

In this clip, outgoing County Commissioner Narverud pretends to ignore the real issue here, which is that the School Board has created UNCONSTITUTIONAL conditions of entry, which violate the CIVIL RIGHTS of EVERY member of the public who chooses to attend. By lending their consent to an illegal search, these individuals are giving up their rights under the 1st and 4th Amendments to the US Constitution.
