The Timekeeper’s Gamble
Genre: Sci-Fi, Adventure, Thriller
Logline: In a future where time is currency, a low-level "Timekeeper" stumbles upon a dangerous secret that could upend the world's temporal economy. With only days left on his own lifespan, he must gamble everything to expose the truth before his time runs out — literally.
Plot Summary:
In a dystopian world where time has replaced money as the ultimate currency, people trade hours, days, and even years of their lives to survive. The wealthy live for centuries, while the poor struggle with mere days on their countdown clocks. Time is managed by a global corporation, Chronos, which controls the flow of time for every citizen, making them the most powerful entity in the world.
Milo Carris, a 32-year-old Timekeeper who works for Chronos, is responsible for auditing people’s lifespans and making sure time is distributed "fairly" among the population. Overworked and disillusioned, Milo has just over six months left on his own clock — barely enough to pay off his debt and save his ailing mother, who only has days left to live.
But one day, Milo uncovers a hidden algorithm in the system: a code that is secretly siphoning time from the masses and funneling it into the accounts of the world’s elite. This discovery reveals a conspiracy involving Chronos' top executives, who have been artificially inflating their own lifespans at the expense of millions of lives.
Milo, now branded a fugitive, teams up with Lena, a brilliant hacker from the underground resistance known as The Clockwork, who has been searching for the proof Milo accidentally discovered. Together, they embark on a high-stakes mission to hack Chronos’ mainframe and release time back to the people, all while being hunted by Ava Lux, a ruthless Time Enforcer with decades of life to spare.
As Milo’s clock ticks down, the pressure mounts. He must outwit Chronos, evade capture, and risk the little time he has left — because if they fail, time as they know it could be lost forever.
Themes:
The inequality of wealth and power, symbolized by time
