What is PPE?
Personal protective equipment or PPE is equipment used to prevent or minimize exposure to hazards such as: Biological hazards. Chemical hazards. Radiological hazards.
Each PPE has a specific use, and it is made of specialized materials. PPE includes safety helmets, gloves, eyeglasses, earplugs, full-body suits, vests, hard hats, safety footwear, and Respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
While ventilation systems, machine guards, and smoke detectors all make your workplace safer, your PPE includes, instead, items like gloves, safety shoes, safety goggles, respirators, earplugs, and hard hats (find out whether hard hats expire).
