GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 9-13-2024 Week 1 Well Ladies and Gentlemen, week 1 of the 47th season of the GEFNFL is in the books!! The weather was sunny warm and perfect for a game of football!! Teams started out with 5v5 as players continued to show up to the field, eventually getting to a 7v7 game once everyone was here. Due to technical difficulties with the camera, we did not get some of the early game and later game plays on video, but we did get most of the game. Blue Team started off strong with a kickoff return for a touchdown by Zach Kraemer to start off the season with a bang! Red team then drives back down the field and score their first touchdown of the game. With a pass from Tyler Jones to Jose Chavez. Blue Team starts their next drive just to get picked off by Paul Van Schaick. Setting Red Team up in good position to throw another touchdown pass from Paul Van Schaick to Kyle Weideman. Blue Team then makes a valiant effort to drive back down the field, just to get picked off again by Paul Van Schaick in the endzone off of a tipped touchdown pass! Red Team then drives down the field and scores another touchdown with a deep pass from Kyle Weideman to Jose Chavez. Blue team tries ones again to drive back down the field. Attempting to add some motion plays to their play calls to trick Red Teams defense, which managed to work until snapper Alex Schott miss timed the handoff on one play. Causing a red team to get a sack due to the ball hitting the ground. Red Team manages to get the turnover on downs, driving back down the field to score another touchdown with a pass from Chris Montes De Oca to Tom Rodgers. Blue Team makes another good effort to drive back down the field again. Only to get stopped on another 4th downplay. Red team drives down the field again, scoring another touchdown from Tom Rodgers to Kyle Weideman. Blue team then tries once again to get a drive going, only to get picked off by Omar Orozco for a pick 6 touchdown!! Things are not looking good for Blue Team. It would seem like some players on blue may have skipped out on some preseason snaps this year. Blue team drives back down the field again, getting stopped once again in the endzone. Red Team then makes another good drive down the field scoring another touchdown with a pass from Omar Orozco to Chris Montes De Oca. Blue team then is finally able to put together a touchdown drive and score with a redzone touchdown pass from Ben Hornak to Zach Kraemer. Red team doesn't waste anytime driving back down the field again though and scoring another touchdown with a rushing touchdown by Tyler Jones. Blue team starts to drive down the field just to get picked off again by Tom Rodgers. Setting Red Team up at about midfield, which is then picked off by Rookie Nathen Hirt on Blue team for a pick 6 touchdown!! Red team drives down again though to score another touchdown with a touchdown pass from Chris Montes De Oca to Tyler Jones. There were a few more plays that got missed due to camera difficulties. Final Score Red - 10 TDs, 3 INTs, 2 Sacks, Blue - 5 TDs, 2 INTs, 1 Kickoff Return Even though it wasn't the best game for players on blue team. Overall, it was still a good start to another GEFNFL season!!

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 9-20-2024 Week 2 Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Week 2 of the GEFNFL!! Once again the weather was perfect for a game of Friday Night Football. Teams started out with 5 v 5 then going to 6 v 6 by the second quarter when one more joined plus our camera guy. (So, we did not get video of most of the second half of the game) Teams turned out to be pretty were evenly match throughout the whole game. Blue Team started off with the ball, putting together a nice starting drive down the field. Scoring the first touchdown of the night with a redzone pass from Nick Tehan to Omar Orozco. Red team then makes an effort on their first drive of the game to drive back down the field, only to get picked off by Omar Orozco on Blue Team in the endzone. Setting up Blue Teams next drive, with just a couple quick passes and one deep pass from Kyle Weideman to Nick Tehan for another Blue touchdown. Who made a nice juke around Red Teams safety, putting Blue Team on top. Red Team on the next drive, determined to get on the board puts together a drive. With a couple great passes and a redzone touchdown from Tyler Jones to Rookie Bryce Davis. On the next kick off Nick Tehan receives the kick makes a backwards pass to Omar Orozco who then takes it up the sideline and makes his way up to Red Teams 15-yard line. Setting up Blue Team in great position for starting their next drive, which was a one play touchdown strike from Alex Schott to Kyle Weideman. Who just narrowly beat Red Teams corner back to make that catch. Red Team puts together another drive back down the field managing to put up another touchdown of their own. With a touchdown pass from Todd Polczynski to Tyler Jones, despite blue teams attempt to mask their blitz package. Blue Team starts to make another drive back down the field, only to get picked off by Paul Van Schaick. Setting up Red Team for another touchdown drive, with a nice rushing play a couple passes and redzone touchdown pass from Zach Kraemer to Bryce Davis. On the next kick off Blue Team gets another good return putting them on Red Teams 20-yard line and setting them up for another touchdown pass from Tom Rodgers to Nick Tehan. This is when the game went from 5 v 5 to 6 v 6 with Dave Torres and the camera man Wayne Schott joining in on the action! Red Team gets the ball, drives down the field and scores another touchdown with a nice rushing touchdown from Bryce Davis. Blue Team tried to get another drive going. Drove back down the field got all the way to the redzone, only to get picked off by Tyler Jones. Red Team starting at the 10-yard line and trying to get out of the hole. Dave Torres makes one deep pass to Tyler Jones, who dodges blues corner and takes it in all the way for another Red Touchdown. A lot of the third quarter was missed on film due to the camera crew jumping in to play to keep teams evened out. So, a lot of great plays were unfortunately missed during this quarter, however the teams were still evenly matched trading touchdown for touchdown. Including a Pick 6 from Omar Orozco, which after looking over the stats card might be the difference maker of this game. Another notable play that happened before the camera crew went back to the sidelines; was another Blue Team touchdown pass from Alex Schott to Tom Rodgers in the back corner endzone. Players on the field swear it was in the air so long that we could have gone to a commercial break, and it would have still been in the air. With the camera crew back on the sidelines and teams back down to 5 v 5. Red Team doesn't hesitate to drive back down the field and scoring another touchdown, with a short pitch pass from Zach Kraemer to Todd Polczynski. Blue Team then drives down the field but gets stopped on Red Teams 5-yard line on a fourth down play. Red Team starts to get a drive going back down the field, but gets picked off by Nick Tehan who almost collide with his teammate Alex Schott to get that ball. Taking it back to midfield. Setting Blue Team up in good position for a deep strike pass to Kyle Weideman. Followed by an awesome pop-up touchdown pass from Tom Rodgers to Omar Orozco who made a great effort on scouring that pass after it had popped up on him. Red Team makes a good effort to get back down the field, only to get picked off by Nick Tehan once again. Setting Blue team up for the final drive and final touchdown of the game, which ended up being a nice rushing touchdown from Nick Tehan. Final Score Red - 8 TDs, 3 INTs, Blue - 9 TDs, 3 INTs, This turned out to be an awesome game, and was a perfectly, evenly matched game. Almost everybody got a stat!!

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 10-4-2024 Week 4 Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Week 4 of the GEFNFL!! Well, it was another great night for some football. Starting off with a 6 vs 6 game going to a 7 v 7 game once all the players arrived. Blue Team received the first kick off, and quickly driving down the field for their first score of the night. With a redzone touchdown pass from Jeremy Bartlett to Todd Polczynski. Not wasting anytime Red Team makes a big play, with a deep strike pass from Tom Rodgers at about the 15-yard line to Zach Kraemer who takes it in for their first touchdown of the night! On Blue Teams next drive, they waste no time answering that touchdown. With another great 30-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Jones to Nathan Hirt! Red Team put together a full drive down the field on their next possession, with a couple short passes, once screen and a big 10-yard rushing plays. Eventually finishing off the drive with a touchdown pass from Zach Kraemer to Kyle Weideman. Blue Team makes a good effort to drive back down the field with a couple big plays but gets picked off by Omar Orozco in the endzone. Red Team then starts to drive back down the field but gets picked off by Nick Tehan. Blue Team makes another attempt to get back down the field but gets picked off by Zach Kreamer. Red Team again tries to get a drive going but get stopped by Blue Teams defense on fourth down play before they could even make it across midfield. Setting up Blue Team on the 10-yard line for a great redzone pass from Todd Polczynski to Jeremy Bartlett in the back corner of the endzone! Red Team gets another drive going back down field with a couple big plays, followed by a great redzone touchdown pass from Dave Torres to Tyler Johnson. Blue Team then drives back down the field on their next possession. Making their way all the way down for touchdown with a great pass from Nick Tehan to Tyler Jones. Red Team gets pinned down on the 3-yard line on the next kick off but gets stopped before they could reach the first down marker. Blue Team attempts to score but Red Teams defense manages to stop them on another fourth downplay. Red Team tries to get another drive going but gets picked off at midfield by Tyler Jones. Blue Team then makes a big play to get back down the field and puts up another touchdown with a great from Carter Torres to Todd Polczynski. Not wasting anytime once again though, Kyle Weideman received the kickoff almost loses it before taking off down field making all the Blue Team defenders miss and taking it all the way in for a 55-yard touchdown!! Blue Team starts to get another drive going back down the field but gets picked off by Tom Rodgers. Red Team turns that back around and drives right back down the field with a couple big plays and ends it with a nice redzone rushing touchdown by Zach Kraemer. Blue Team then manages to get another drive going with a big 20-yard rushing play, a quick pass, followed by another big 30-yard run from Tyler Jones who then pitches it back to Chris Montes De Oca at the 5-yard line who runs it in for the touchdown!! Red Team starts to drive back down the field but gets picked off by Jeremy Bartlett who has to pitch it back to Chris Montes De Oca who then pitches it to Carter Torres who then takes it down the 3-yard line. Blue Team tries to score but gets picked off again by Paul Van Schaick. Red Team then manages to drive back down to midfield and then makes a hail mary touchdown pass from Kyle Weideman to Dave Torres. Blue Team tries to get another drive going but once again gets picked off this time by Tyler Johnson. Red Team then makes a big pass getting them down to the 3-yard line and then tacking on another touchdown pass from Dave Torres to Omar Orozco. Calling final score, Blue Team attempts to get another drive going but gets picked off again by Dave Torres. Red Team then tries to get a drive going but gets picked off by Carter Torres. Blue Team then tries one final drive to get a touchdown with a big hail mary play but could not get it. With Red Team up by two touchdowns we called it a game. Final Score Red - 8 TDs, 6 INTs, Blue - 6 TDs, 4 INTs, 1 Sack Overall, it turned out to be another great game!!

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 10-11-2024 Week 5 Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Week 5 of the GEFNFL!! Was another great night for some Friday night football. With enough players for a 7 vs 7 game. Blue Team started off with the ball and wasted no time putting a drive together with a couple quick passes. Followed by a touchdown pass thrown by Dave Torres originally to Nick Tehan but gets deflected up and into the hands of rookie Rylan Rivera for Blue Team first touchdown of the night! Red Team starts to get a drive going with a couple pass and run plays, but Blue Teams defense manages to get a third down sack, followed by a fourthdown stop. Blue Team then starts to drive down the field once again but gets picked off by Rookie Eddie Rivera on Red Team. Red Team manages to put together another good drive with a couple big plays but is once again stopped in the redzone by Blue Teams defense. Blue Team then gets another great drive of their own going with a couple big pass plays with one deep 30-yard pass from Nick Tehan to Todd Polczynski setting up Blue Team at Reds 15yard line. Then after another quick rushing play, Nick Tehan finds Kyle Weideman in the endzone for another Blue Touchdown!! Red Team gets another drive going, making it across midfield and then making one deep pass from Tom Rodgers to Zach Kraemer for Red Teams first touchdown of the night. Blue Team then starts to put another back down the field making it all the way down Red Teams 15-yard line. Only to then get picked off by Zach Kraemer who then runs it all the way back down the field untouched for another Red Team touchdown!! Blue Team then manages to get another long drive going. With a couple pass plays across midfield followed by a couple rushing plays. Eventually putting up another touchdown with a pass from Todd Polczynski to Kyle Kappel. Red Team starts their next drive down at their 15-yard line. Then with one short pass getting them to midfield, on the next pass Eddie Rivera find Carter Torres coming across the middle. Who then takes it up the left sideline untouched all the way down for another Red Team touchdown. On the next kick off, Blue Team gets pinned down on their 5-yard line. Then with a quick screen pass from Rylan Rivera to Kyle Kappel who makes a break away play making Red Teams defense miss him and takes it all the way down to Red Teams 5-yard line!! On the next play Rylan Rivera tucks it and runs it in for his first rushing touchdown!! Red Team makes a good effort to get another drive going. With a couple big plays getting them down to Blue Teams endzone but gets stopped once again by Blue Teams defense. Blue Team then makes a couple big plays to get back down field but gets picked off by Tom Rodgers in the back of the endzone. Red Team then starts to get another drive going of their own but Blue Teams defense manages to stop them once again before they could score. Blue Team then manages to put together another good drive back down the field, but Red Teams defense stops them on another fourthdown play. Red Team starts to drive back down the field again, making it back across midfield but then gets picked off by Nick Tehan. Setting up Blue Team for another scoring drive, with a couple good passes from Dave Torres who eventually find Kyle Kappel for another Blue Team Touchdown. It's now final touchdown drive of the night. Red Team has the ball and with a quick run play and a nice pass from Tyler Jones to Carter Torres they make their way back down the field. Followed by another quick pass and then a final touchdown pass from Tyler Jones to Tom Rodgers to end the game. Turned out to be another Great game!! Final Score Blue - 5 TDs, 1 INT, 1 Sack Red - 4 TDs, 2 INTs, 1 Sack

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 10-18-2024 Week 6 Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Week 6 of the GEFNFL!! It was another awesome night for some football. We thought we were only going to have enough players to play a 4 vs 4 game but as luck would have it. There were four other players from another league practicing on the field when we got there. So, we asked them if they wanted to join us, and they did!! So, we were able to start with a 6 vs 6 game with one team rotating until one more player showed up later in the game for a 7 vs 7 game. Blue Team started off with the ball, had a pretty good first drive but gets stopped by Red Teams defense on a fourth down play. Red Team then makes a quick one throw drive from Tyler Jones to Zac Hogeland who takes it all the way down for Red Teams first touchdown of the night. Blue Team then puts together another good drive this time making it all the way down for a touchdown with pass from Paul Van Schaick to Tom Rodgers putting. Red Team then gets another full drive going back down the field with a couple big plays, and eventually putting up another touchdown with a redzone pass from Chris Montes De Oca to Todd Polczynski. Blue Team gets another drive going but is unable to put up another touchdown getting stopped at Red Teams 4-yard line. Red Team starts to get another drive going making it past midfield but gets picked off by Tom Rodgers, setting up Blue Team for another touchdown drive. With a couple quick passes and one deep pass from Austin Ryerson to Nick Tehan for the touchdown! Red Team then puts up a really good drive back down the field but gets stopped on the 2-yard line by Blue Teams defense. Blue Team manages to get out of the hole but isn't able to make it pass midfield before picking up the first down. Red Team then tries for a big hail mary play from midfield but gets picked off by Nick Tehan. Blue Team then manages to get another good drive going back down the field but gets stopped by Red Teams defense. Red Team tries once again to make it back down the field but gets stopped again by Blue Teams defense, the battle of the defense continues for the next three drives with both Teams getting stopped on fourth downplays. Red Team then manages to get another drive going and a touchdown pass at midfield from Tyler Jones to Greg Langsdorf. Blue Team tries to get another drive going but gets picked off in the endzone by Zac Hogeland. Red Team then drives back down the field and puts up another touchdown with a redzone pass from Chris Montes De Oca to Greg Langsdorf. Blue Team then gets another drive going despite almost getting picked off again, they manage to put up another touchdown with a big midfield pass from Austin Ryerson to Nick Tehan. Red Team then puts together the final drive of the night with a couple big plays and redzone touchdown pass from Todd Polczynski to Chris Montes De Oca for the final score!! Final Score Red - 5 TDs, 1 INT, 1 Sack Blue - 3 TDs, 2 INTs, 1 Sack Turned out to be another really great game!!

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 10-25-2024 Week 7 Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Week 7 of the GEFNFL!! Its was a little bit cooler than most night but still turned out to be another nice night for some football! We had enough players for a 7 vs 7 game. Red Team was the first to receive the ball this game drove down the field but gets stopped by Blue Teams defense on a fourth down play. Blue Team starts their first drive at their 5-yard line, and despite getting sacked twice. Tyler Jones throws one deep pass to Omar Orozco setting them up on Red Team 10-yard line, followed by another quick pass and then a touchdown pass to Tony Storniolo for their first touchdown of the night. Red Team then tries to get a drive going but gets picked off by Nick Tehan, setting Blue Team up at about midfield. Blue Team makes a couple plays to get back down field and score but gets picked off by Eddie Rivera in the front of the endzone. Red Team then manages to get another drive going making it past midfield just to get picked off once again by Chris Montes De Oca in the front of the endzone. The Battle between the defense has started. Blue Team tries to get another drive going but gets shutdown before they can make it past midfield. Setting Red Team up in good position to try to score, only to get picked off once again this time by Tyler Jones. Blue Team then marches back down field with a couple big plays, and finally putting up their second touchdown of the night. Red Team manages to make it past midfield on their next drive but still gets stopped once again by Blue Teams defense. Blue Team then puts together another great drive with a couple quick passes, gets sacked once, and then a deep pass from Tony Storniolo to Nick Tehan putting down at the 1-yard line but then gets stopped by Red Teams defense. Blue Team then tries to get out of the hole but gets stopped by Blue Teams defense once again before they could make it past midfield. Setting Blue Team up in good position but is then quickly picked off once again by Kyle Weideman on Red Team. Red Team manages to make it all the way back down the field on this next drive but is once again stopped by Blue Teams defense before they could score. Blue Team then drives back down the field with a couple big plays, getting them across midfield, and then down to the 5-yard line, gets sacked driving them back to about the 20-yard line. Followed by a big fourth down touchdown pass from Nick Tehan to Tyler Jones. Red Team then is able to finally get a touchdown drive going with a couple of quick passes, making their way across midfield and finding the endzone with a redzone pass from Ben Hornak to Kyle Weideman. Blue Team then quickly strikes back with big deep pass from Tyler Jones to Nick Tehan for another Blue Team touchdown. Red Team then starts another drive just to get picked off once again by Chris Montes De Oca! Blue Team then starts to put together another drive but gets picked off by Rylan Rivera! Red Team tries again to score but is once again stopped short of the goal line. Setting up Blue Team at about the 5-yard line for the final drive of the night dropping down to a 6 vs 6 game. With a couple runs and quick pass plays they make their way back down the field and put up the final touchdown of the night with a touchdown pass from Todd Polczynski to Nick Tehan. Teams looked balanced at first, but Red Team was clearly out matched tonight. Overall, it still turned out to be a fun game. Final Score Blue - 5 TDs, 4 INTs, 3 Sacks Red - 1 TDs, 3 INTs, 4 Sacks

GEFNFL 47th Season Game Review 11-1-2024 Week 8 SuperBowl Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen!! It is Week 8 which is SuperBowl Friday of the GEFNFL!! The weather was cooler than most of the nights we played, we had enough players for a 7 vs 7 game. Turning out to be pretty evenly matched teams. Blue Team started off with the ball and quickly makes their way down the field but gets picked off in the endzone by Red Teams Tom Rodgers. Red Team then makes a good drive back down the field and puts up the first touchdown of the night with a pass from Tyler Jones to Tom Rodgers. Blue Team then puts together another great drive back down the field but gets stopped short of the goal line. This is when the battle of the defenses begins. After a couple of defensive stops by both Teams. Blue Team eventually puts up their first touchdown of the night, with a backward pass play from Nick Tehan to Tony Storniolo who then throws it to Todd Polczynski for the touchdown!! Red Team makes another attempt to drive down the field, but the battle of the defenses continues and is stopped once again. After two more defensive turnovers, Blue Team gets the ball again and manages to put up another touchdown with a rushing touchdown from Chad Cerroni putting Blue Team on top. After another four drives of defensive turnovers, Red Team is able to put up another touchdown from Kyle Weideman to Greg Hangsdorf tying up the game. Then the battle of the defenses continues for a couple more drives with two notable interceptions from Blue Team. One off of a tipped ball to Alex Schott, and then the final pick six from Tony Storniolo ending the game. Final Score Blue - 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 4 Sacks Red - 2 TDs, 1 INTs, 2 Sacks Turned out to be another awesome game, and another awesome season of the GEFNFL!!!
