Russian jet passes within feet of US plane

The US has criticized Russia for an "unprofessional" manoeuvre that saw a Russian fighter jet pass within feet of an American plane.

The incident happened when US aircraft intercepted their Russian counterparts high above Alaska.

The US regularly carries out aerial intercepts of Russian aircraft in international airspace near Alaska.
