The Holodomor refers to famine disaster in the Ukraine From 1932 to 1933.

Holodomor translates to "death by hunger",
it resulted in the starvation and eventual death of millions of Ukraine people.
It is considered a genocide by 25 countries, and the United Nations.

Soviet Holodomor in the '30s. Unlike a famine, which is caused by crop failure, a holodomor is caused by economic policy.

After they seized power, Russian communists removed the kulaks and collectivized the farms.
Agricultural productivity plummeted.
As millions starved, some resorting to cannibalism, Stalin forbade the use of the words famine, hunger, or starvation.
